In the beginning of meditation,
we realize that we have built up barriers brick by brick, stone by stone
until we are captured in our own darkness.
In the middle of meditation, a bit of light may appear.
We, being industrious as we are, begin to dismantle our building.
Brick by brick. Stone by stone.
In the end of meditation, as we remove the final bricks
and can see the Light so near, we come to the awareness-
God was not on the “other side” of our barrier.
God was in the darkness. God was in the light.
God was simply inside. The mind delights in its own folly-
the “goal” of meditation.
