If God Had One Wish for You, this would be it….
I wonder if we were to ever ask God-”What do you need?” – we would stop to understand what we were asking. Many of us from a young age have been informed about what God “needs”- certain prayers, offerings, gestures and more.
Our self-assurance blocks our view of what it all may mean. God has no needs, as we would define them.
However, what if we were to pretend for a minute or two that God at least has a wish or two.
Let us listen, if we could, and hear what God would say:
My Loved Ones-
I need not another statue erected from your pain.
I need not another edict written from your fear.
I need not another religious law resurrected from your anger.
I need not another vow screamed from your hatred.
I need not another gesture made from you in passing.
I need not another offering made from your greed.
I need not another sacrifice made up from your delusion.
What I need, my dear one, and I hesitate to lay another burden upon your head – is only this:
What I always dreamed for you in the darkness of creation when I poured all the love and joy I could share into your Being, crafted with my Heart, was simply that you would be happy. That would be my one wish.
Can we do this? Can we for one day, one hour, one moment share a sense of innate happiness, happy that we have this life, happy that we are alive and experience life, happy that we are here/now living as only we know how- can we share this?
What a gift to the God we speak of to take joy in the greatest gift- a life to live. What if all God ever wanted was for you to be happy?
