Wearing Your Heart Upon Your Sleeve

A Woman Wears Her Heart

A Woman Wears Her Heart

Here’s to everyone who wears their heart upon their sleeves.

“Heart on Sleeve”

One woman became tired-
so very, very tired-
of being told not to wear her heart on her sleeve.

The information given to her
indicated, confidently, that a sleeve
was no place for such object.

The woman, hero that she is,
decided to end such admonishments
and their accompanying attempt at shame.

She devested herself of clothing
in the most assured manner and
decided with a clarity, of which
most would be envious,
to simply wear her heart “as is”.

Once revealed, her heart would
hide no more. She thought she wore it very well.
And decided for her, life would be different.
