Woman- Own Yourself and Your Story

Shaping the World

It has been said that for women, sexuality, creativity, and feeling empowered are tightly linked. It’s as if, carrying the world between our loins, we are forever linked with creation through our sexual selves. Can a woman create separately from sexuality? Of course. For any woman to create, though, sexually or otherwise, demands that she be present. That she own herself- her thoughts, her emotions, her experiences, and her life. Only then will a woman being living the life that is hers to claim.

Woman- do not let others tell you to be silent. Woman- do not let others tell you about your own voice. Woman- do not let others own your life. You are the power and beauty of creation. Your life to be lived; your story to be told. Don’t let others tell you otherwise. Find voice, find vision and own yourself.

“Do I scare You?”

Do I frighten you?
Do you view me with my teeth bared?
And, let’s be honest, a smile is not what you imagine
upon my face.

Are you afraid of what I may say?
That I may tell my OWN story,
when you have given me written script
carved in stone?

I am not Moses and I refuse to carry your commandments;
however “true” you feel they be.

I am a walking Vagina Dentata to you,
aren’t I?

I whisper-
I frickin’ whisper-
and still, it’s too much for you.

I am a woman-
libidinous, riding life,
the waves crashing between my legs

Where you suggest I clutch and close
I pull myself open,
welcoming

The rawness of my own voice
and erotic screams rendering tears in Heaven.
Why you fear me becomes apparent.

The calls I make tell of passion to be taken
to the place where only orgasm resides
and I am ridden into the dust.

Dust to dust
Ashes to ashes

The world built from my loins

A woman who owns her passion-
What is left for you?

Nothing.

In union, I come into myself.

  1. Wise words indeed: many thanks for sharing.

    Please check out http://kisskaleidos.wordpress.com/ thanks.

  2. Why is there so much hatred against the Goddeses of old and new? Because of the power of the Goddess and of women!

It was not always that way! Goddesses, of every kind, have been and are being, revealed again and again. They have a purpose, always have, and always will, and therefore are a threat to those that can not accept women, their spirituality, their creativity, their very existence!

    wonderful!

    • I so agree!! The attacks on Goddess worship, clearly point out the fear of women. Thank you for mentioning this!

  3. Thank you for sharing this, Kim. Kind of what we were hinting upon a bit earlier.
This drawing is so damn cool, by the way.

    • Absolutely, I was struck when I had returned to what I had started that this was exactly what we were talking about.

  4. Be present and tell your own story is the best advice for everyone, even men. Thank you for encouraging women to bare their teeth instead of smiling all the time.
I also liked the Moses line as I find major religions to be extremely anti female.

    • I love your understatement “major religions tend to be extremely anti- female”- Amen! you said it! I agree that men must share their stories as well. We all need to.

      • I was just talking to a friend about religion. I don’t see how anyone can be a feminist if they are Christian or Muslim because believing in only a male god automatically puts women as less important. Now if a the god was both or neither genders it would work, but otherwise it is illogical to me. I can respect others ideas, but that doesn’t mean they make sense to me.

      • Perfectly said! And not only is there one male God is some religions- it is also so focued on “male-ness”- The Father and the Son, etc. There is no place for women in the dialogue at all. thanks!

      • It’s nice to hear another voice of reason. :)

  5. Wow. Thanks, Kimberly!
